I did the same thing recently Sui. Back in Sept I build a mid-range PC, seeing my old one was well out of date. I couldn't run ARMA3 on my old machine. I had to do it on a budget of NZ$ 2100 but I picked up the monitor for my XMAS pressie. It's not a high end machine, but it runs ARMA3 nicely at high detail 1080p. Run between 40 and 60 FPS on the TTS server. I would recommend going for the 970 GTX over the 960. I nearly bought the 960, but decided to reduce cost in a couple of other areas to get the higher spec card. CPU is a good one for what it is.

Now have
Case: Corsair Carbide Air 240 (Great small case)
Mobo: Asus Z97M-Plus (Micro ATX for the small case)
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690k 3.5GHz
GPU: GTX 970 G1 Gaming
RAM: 16 GB GSkill (2x8GB)
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G1 650W
KB: Logitech Gaming KB
MS: Logitech G502
HDD: Samsung 850 EVO Series 250GB SSD
Screen: 27" AOC i2757FH @ 1080P

Nah, in my mind it's more important to have a good setup to support a GPU upgrade in the future. Why spend more potential Titan money on a 970 when you can just get the 960 @4gb. Better yet... Chris Roberts that shit and go Full Blown Dual Titan

Yeah, I'm sticking with the 960. As I said earlier, it's a placeholder for the next series.

To some extent, I agree, which is why I got a machine that'd support a bigger card if / when I needed to get one. It does depend on what the budget. I had a pretty tight budget... which stretched a little for the new monitor :D

Beat me too it.

Your wife may be pissed you're spending over 2k on a pc, but you will be pissed after you install GTAV and realise you have room for fuckall else.

It's a canvas. I'm eyeing off one of those 1tb SSDs. $475 at the moment.
